Netgear FSM7326P - Bricked???

I bought the above mentioned switch for £100 off ebay... I am getting cheap switches for the outback areas.

 

Managed to reset it to factory default and noticed its a few versions behind the current firmware... which is when it messed up.

 

On the serial it doesn't get to the stage where I can reset it... just hangs before it gets to the menu pages.

 

The switch recovery tool doesn't list the switch and it doesn't work anyway.

 

Is it bricked?

 

As its an eBay buy I don't have a original invoice so I can't claim the 5 year warranty either

Mmmm.. they have accepted (up to now) my paypal receipt as proof of purchase so fingers crossed they will allow me to RMA it.

 

Have to say I am craving an Indian call centre... netgear support seems to be in the US and they seem to employ bubbly cheerleaders, well they sound like them. I know I have a Yorkshire accent but I have to repeat myself more times that when I phone Mumbai.

 

And yes... 'I will have a nice day'
