dwhyte85 Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Where can I get good gear that isn't through PVP or requires me to give my evenings raiding? Are the heroics any good for gear compared to raids? I know it's all pointless but... I'm just that sad.
quiet_andy Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 When I use to play I used Loot Rank, Loot Rank Templates. Select your preferred class and it can even retrieve your character from the armoury, it will show you exactly where you can get your improved gear from. You can also set the preferences so it does not display raid or PvP items. Hope this helps.
GrumbleDook Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I'm not a PvP or Raid player either ... and it is frustrating that I have to get lucky or spend a lot of gold on stuff. I've only got one level 80 (been playing since close to original release with a short break to get a life) and it is frustrating that some others treat you as a newb just because you are not wearing the best gear ... and you don't even get into any dungeons either because of it. I'm concentrating on achievements right now ... just in case any of them can't be done after Cataclysm is released.
dwhyte85 Posted October 26, 2010 Author Posted October 26, 2010 I am getting kicked from heroics because my gear isn't good enough and I can't be bothered with going onto comms to talk to people about game tactics to do raids. I did PVP this weekend because it was the call to arms and extra honor so all my gear is PVP but it's poo for PVE.
dwhyte85 Posted October 26, 2010 Author Posted October 26, 2010 You are jealous of my +1 WoW intellect.
nikaso Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 *ding* grats! I never used to do PvP but when my rogue hit 80 I had good times going to WG and getting all stabby on mages/priests etc. It can be quite good fun when you get into it but I totally agree on the raiding, I don't have guaranteed solid blocks of time to invest in a 25 man raid or something so I miss out on that part, plus the beauty of WoW I find is just being able to pootle around doing your own thing.

I can't even buy worthwhile gear on my server, I can't get the plans for decent blacksmithing either. I've been kicked from heroics and non-heroics, it sucks! I stopped playing before Burning Crusade, started again just before WOTLK then gave up because it was effort and just came back into it now - must be the cold weather! @nikaso - death knights are not so sneaky haha
CAM Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I know how you feel on the no raids no PvP thing. I tend to take a break mid-expansion then hit the cap after everyone has far surpassed me. I joined a casual raid guild filled with friends instead and enjoyed it far more then the hardcore groups I was in. That way I got round the Holy Paladin trap in early Burning Crusade, while everyone had a sucky time chain casting one spell I was hitting things.
Guest TheLibrarian Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I've not been playing very long, but from my experience I'd say do random normal dungeons in mode to build up some Justice Points and buy the the appropriate T10 gear from Dalaran vendors. You get kicked from normals? That's just plain nasty. Can't your guild run a few HC's for you to allow you to pick up some easy JP's? I've got an lvl 80 Orc warrior and a lvl 59 'lock both on Karazhan, when the next patch comes out I'll start a Tauren hunter on Azjol Nerub.
ZeroHour Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I am an 80 DK (horde) on Aszune and I am enjoying the daily quests. I have not had the pleasure of doing an ICC raid yet, they all just laugh at my gearscore....
Guest TheLibrarian Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Gz! My little 'lock is 68 now and I'm gearing my Fury OS with T10 now (JP's are too easy to get).
GrumbleDook Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I'm enjoying the daily quests in Northrend at the moment ... only really just gotten into them with my 80 (alliance) DK on Earthen Ring. I now run a guild ... consisting of me and my alts so am finally getting the benefits of the guild bank. Now I am also trying to build up my alts so I have access to the different professions rather than lvl to get into different dungeons / raids.
Guest TheLibrarian Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Negative rep* for you, you allie ratbag. For the horde! * No rep was harmed in the process of making this joke.
dwhyte85 Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Alliance are great... apart from at battlegrounds.

I have a 69 druid sitting on ER, you went for the full on RP server so I take it you meet in city's for a chat as your char

I had been playing horde on Earthen Ring up until the release of Wrath ... then swapped to a Drenai DK and that changed my whole orientation ... I still have a few undead on other servers, but never really got that excited about it again.
CAM Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 My only 80 is on Earthen Ring and an active character. Human Holy Pala dressed head to toe in that green armour from ICC10.
CHR1S Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Stop it, makes me want to dust off my Lv60 Feral Druid with BRD/S Nef killing gear... man thats years old lol!
CAM Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 When the servers come back, new classes for the old races will be available and Azeroth will be torn apart at last! New quests to keep us entertained until we venture into the 80+ content with our mains.
GrumbleDook Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 It was annoying last night trying to travel around to finish off the pilgrim achievements ... I guess tonight will be fun.
dalsoth Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Alakir was fun for a few years. Played since release and then on an off over last few years. Having a go on Darkfall now as wow is just a cash cow esports game. Graphics and stuff are a bit lacking in Darkfall but its full loot and so similar to Ultima Online i am enjoying it. Doubt i will come back for the Cataclysm as i would be bored in half an hour.
Butters Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Thinking of taking a stab at WoW again. Can anyone name a decent RP realm?
