smalls001 Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Hi all, Just a question to throw into the mix.. Will or Have City learning Centres will be/been affected by government Cuts..
Tricky_Dicky Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Yes, our local one closed it's doors to students last Friday. What's bothering me is what is going to happen to the equipment? I know of one CLC that has just bought 130 iPads!
smalls001 Posted October 20, 2010 Author Report Posted October 20, 2010 I Know what you mean with equipment, Hopefully they will be put to good use....!!
denon101 Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 Pretty sure most will be in some form of trouble. As most of the funding for CLC's came through BECTA. Maybe there will be some choice equipment going though,
smalls001 Posted October 21, 2010 Author Report Posted October 21, 2010 Unless they can find our own funding they will close...
gopher_1999 Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 A CLC I know of has had it's IT funding slashed to about £10k a year. I feel bad for them, but still, for the last few years their budget has been disgusting. They have whole class sets if Ipods, DSLites, netbooks etc just going to waste in store rooms. They have not spent wisely at all, and now they will really suffer.
