ravenadsl Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Hello, I have setup a staff member so they can remote controll there desktop computer from home. its just been updates to windows 7 and everythign is fine appart from this one niggley little problem when remote controling the computer it first takes you to the logon screen when the defult login server is the local computer and not the domain controler. this means they cannot login unless the remember to specify the domain before there username (domain\usernamer) Thanks!
apeo Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 What are you using to Remote in? Im guessing its now Remote Desktop.
EduTech Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 If you are using Remote Desktop, tell the user to just type in there email address! much easier then getting them to remember the NetBIOS Name. Username@domain or/ [email protected] James.
ravenadsl Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 we are using remote desktop i will try there e-mail address i dident realize that would work. lets see if they remember it!

Yeah It should work, we have some people who can never remember to do DOMAIN\ so just say type in your email address or/ the NetBIOS Version which is a bit easier as it's just what ever your local domain is called. James.
apeo Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 If you're using remote desktop in windows 7 under Options can you not fill in the username section to domain\username? so it only asks for the password. You could go as far as remembering credentials if you so wish.
