MK-2 Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 i have an appointment at 4:15 today but also have a slow puncture on my car and need to get it sorted. what sort of time (realistically) would a garage take to repair one? if i were to drop it off at 3, would it be a ten min job and give me time to get home and to my appointment or do they faff about with stuff? i know its all subjective as it may be unrepairable, etc. but best case?
TwoZeroAlpha Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Well most places should be able to swap a tyre over in about 10mins, but I guess it all hinges on the repair speed once it is off. I'd allow 30mins to be safe.
El_Nombre Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Re vulcanising a tyre usually takes about 20-30 minutes from arrival to leaving provided you're not in the queue.
TopBanana Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I used to work in the tyre and exhaust industry and a puncture repair will take about 20 mins , hopefully the puncture isnt to close to either sidewall otherwise its time for a new tyre fella see below for more info http://www.blackcircles.com/general/repair 1
MK-2 Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 i know if its close to the wall im screwed. the annoying thing is this tyre was replaced four months ago due to the old one having a nail in it close to the wall. the rate im going through tyres on this car i may as well apply to be the next stig!
daz666 Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Hi put the spare on the car then drop off the flat one at the garage then pick it up the next day or get some tyre repair spray that blocks holes.
