garethEds Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Afternoon All, Our Windows 2008R2 license has just arrived to be installed on a Member server which is currently running 2008 standard. Can anyone tell me if I can use the 2008R2 media to upgrade the 2008 server? I don't really want to setup all my WDS stuff again from the beginning. Many thanks Gareth
garethEds Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 Just checked our server and it is 64 bit - but we are running the 32 bit 2008. So I'm going to assume that you cannot update a 32 bit OS to a 64 bit OS. :-( Going to leave it for a while then. Gareth
pritchardavid Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 yep thats correct cant do that It's always best to do a clean install anyway
garethEds Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 Hi p-dave Yes I assumed this would be the case so I have started backing up and moving images over to a temporary NAS box today. I'm off tomorrow but can build everything from Monday. I hope you can do dynamic driver provision with WIndows XP Gareth
