Any jobs/places for an ICT Technician around Yorkshire?

Hi,

 

I'm currently 4 months into a Zenos Academy course (http://www.zenos.com) which is an 18 month NVQ in IT Practicioning.

 

I will have completed the initial 5 month training stage shortly and will need a placement in an organization to complete my NVQ and give me experience (For what its worth I feel like I know quite a lot about computing without having had to sign up for the Zenos course, but I failed to get a job over the summer due to a lack of experience which is a bit swings and roundabouts as I can be hardly expected to have a great deal of that when I'm 18 and only just completed A Levels in June!)

 

Anyway I just wanted to post here in case any educational organizations around the Yorkshire area (pref. West/South Yorks) had any jobs or spare placements available in the IT Technical department. I do have 3 weeks work experience of working in a school environment and I would be happy to provide evidence of this.

 

CV, References etc available on request. I currently do not drive but have a provisional license and am taking lessons (Theory passed).

Sorry, after having a discussion with leeupo I need to state that I require a full time, paid placement rather than just a placement...Apologies if I did not make that clear before

Ironically the job supplement that fell out of todays paper has got 3 ICT Technician roles up for grabs, all based around the Leeds area (I believe all are in schools/colleges/universities too).

 

I just hope they can see how qualified I am for my age plus how developed I am on a personal note and have a fight to employ me now!

Hey there, have you not been offered any placement from Zenos themselves? I too am on the Zenos course and have been offered a few placements, i do agree with you seeking "outside" vacancies as the ones offered by Zenos do seem to be very restrictive, i too am looking for a Technician role although there doesn't seem to be many. Very few offers even having passed Network+ and about to finish my MCDST

Well done to the lucky person who got the Bradford role if they are on here, I went for interview but was called a few hours later with the bad news call!
