MatthewL Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 We use them for self check in at the surgeries, we tend to go for the 3M ones but have had a few others, Iiyama also do some, we have one or two of these. Quite straight forward to setup and install. 1
speckytecky Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 (edited) Got a teacher who recently purchased Sony VAIO VPCJ11M1E/B Touchscreen All-in-one PC - Misco.co.uk seems to do all he wants and more but as he didn't specify the OS it came with windows 7 Home edition so won't join the network! The Sony VAIO came in at the top of the bunch of PC Pro reviews I read before I bought my touch-screen PC, however the model they thought was best was also the most expensive - something like £1,200. I went for the Advent all-in-one in the end, as available in PC World / Curry's, for around £500. The 22" screen should be plenty big enough for a visually impaired student. It does come with Windows 7 Home Premium on it, but you can upgrade that to Windows 7 Pro for around £100. It might be an idea for the child in question to visit PC World or John Lewis and have a play with the touch-screen PCs on show there. They do at least one model of touch-screen laptop in PC World, too. -- David Hicks 1
