faza Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Hi, I have a SharePoint site which has two sites sharepoint.xxxxx.xxxxx and sharepoint.xxxx xxx/staff. Our sharepoint site is hosted by our LA so we can access the site from home. We have used Alternate Access Mappings to perform this. I would like the root to have anonymous access but the /staff site password protected. I have gone to Content and structure logs and advanced settings on the root site and enabled anonymous logon but it is still asking for a password. I have changed IIS to anonymous then the site comes up with an error. I have also performed the setting within Authentication Providers. Hope you can help Faza
localzuk Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I think you'd need to give permissions to everyone to view the page - as standard, it'll still be following its list of acceptable users in the user manager.
faza Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 I have set authenticated users to read is that ok? Faza

EduTech Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Surely guests are unauthenticated? That is correct I am just trying to get my Demo Rig Loaded so I can give you more precise instructions as i can't bloody remember now! On your site, do you now have an Anonymous Tab where you can configure options? i.e. Top Level Page
faza Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 I have resolved this issue I needed to enable Digest and Anonymous Authentication on the website within IIS. cheers for all your help and support. Faza
