KB articles and FAQs

Hi there,

 

I want to gather as many KB articles and FAQs together to add to our intranet to hopefully start reducing visits to the IT department. Especially as we have just been reduced from 2.5 people to 1 person, me!

 

Can anyone point me to and handy resources for collating such a things or even offer to share what you already have!?!

 

Any help etc is greatly appreciated as always!

How can we tell you what your most FAQs are?

 

You need to give a bit more info about your set-up. Is it XP, 7, MAC? Do you use SIMS or CMIS?

Does it really matter? Surely the a KB database should cover all OS and software packages?

Well, if they don't have any mac's, and use SIMS, then giving him tips for CMIS and macs would be pointless? So, it seems pretty important...

soz for the delay in responding, sick little daughter to look after.

 

FN-GM - You've hit the nail on the head. I was wondering if there was some sort of wiki where I could have a look at common faults and cherry pick / alter slightly to suit my needs.

 

I'm starting from scratch here and as I'm obviously not going to have too much time on my hands now I thought that maybe there were existing places that may contain IT related KB articles.

 

I'm looking for things like:

 

Why won't my PC switch on? - Is it plugged in and switched on at the socket? etc etc . . .

I would be interested in something like this. Like i say i thought about a Wikimedia wiki put there must be something better out there?
