localzuk Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I have an installation of Request Tracker on an Ubuntu server running Apache2, and I am trying to access it via an IIS7 server via reverse proxying (ie. so that http://domain.com/rt goes to http://rt/). However, I am being hit by an error in IIS7 which tells me that it can't rewrite compressed responses - and the RT install is compressing pages with gzip. So, my question is - how do I stop it doing this, and get it to simply return uncompressed data.
powdarrmonkey Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) From memory, you need to disable the use of mod_deflate (though really, not being able to deal with compressed responses is a pretty poor show nowadays...) edit: it is mod_deflate, though if you have an exotic setup it might be mod_gzip instead. mod_deflate - Apache HTTP Server Edited October 1, 2010 by powdarrmonkey
localzuk Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 I found a more elegant solution in the end. I did my reverse proxying on our Ubuntu box instead. Meaning everything is handled properly.
