This is driving me crazy!

2 sat pro l300 staff laptops, one won't display to the smartboard, which has happened before and fixed under warrenty. One corrupted with windows and hard drive showing a bad block. Both under warrenty but not enough laptops in school to allow them to spend weeks at the repair place.

So thought I'd be sensible and put the duff hard drive in the laptop that won't display to external monitors and keep one good laptop.

Swopped good hard drive and have one working laptop. All good. But....... now cannot reinstall windows successfully on the duff laptop to send it back for repair, so it doesn't look as I've changed parts around and invalidated the warrenty.

Just tell them that the OS is not booting up now and you think it could be the hard drive packed up and as you have stated you haven't changed anything and they won't know as internal parts are not registered as part of the unit just what type.

Send it back and let them fulfil the warranty. :)

The product recovery disk won't only work with a specific laptop will it, I've got 5 of these recovery disks all with the same serial number on. I can boot it ok into safe mode but restarting windows then hangs on finishing installation.

The hard drives are identical so it's not obvious I've swopped parts round but it's bugging me now!

Paranoia is kicking in so stop thinking about it and send it back promptly, don't waste any more time.

Stop thinking start living its a great ideal so start today in fact start now.

Get a good nights sleep and send it back tomorrow first thing.

Enjoy the rest of your night and hey don't let it bug you its not worth it. :)

I had to send my toshiba netbook back under warranty and it had the motherboard replaced I shipped it without the hard drive anyway and told them I had tried the hard drive in another one of the same model so I knew it wasn't that which was faulty and they were fine about it.

I'm sure you'll be fine also.
