Hi,

We've recently purchased a classroom full of HP Compaq 6000 Pro Small Form Factor PC's and have had a bit of trouble with them.

When trying to build from disk we encounter a blue screen error once the XP set up starts. I read up on this and it appeared to be the fact that xp doesnt have the sata drivers so I then downloaded these to disk so I could include them when it asks for additional drivers, but it still didnt work.

In the end we decided to install xp and then to smartclient them. This works fine, however, if the machine needs rebuilding at all we have to repeat this whole process. I was wondering if there is a way to smartclient and be able to make an image of this? This way, rebuilding from an image to save time.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Not that I know of.

Have you tried installing new Hardware Support Packs, available from RM? They may include appropriate SATA drivers for the XP build and allow you to build as normal.
