Brother 7050 - printing first 2" from the left

Hi all,

 

i have a rather annoying printer that will only print the first 2" from the left hand margin. it then fades out gracefully. We have had an engineer out who doesnt seem to fix the issue, just resovles it for a short while.

Has anyone got any suggestions on how to fix.
