Your ADMX file is copied (just in Windows Explorer) into C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions. In that folder there is a language folder, more than likely called en-US on your system. Copy the ADML file in there. Done!

Must be something I'm doing wrong.

 

If I copy an old ADMX file into \sysvol\domain\policies\PolicyDefinitions\ it works fine.

 

But if I copy the ADML file into \sysvol\domain\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\en-US\ I get nothing.

 

Grrrr...

 

EDIT: Nevermind, just found the ADMX at the bottom of the zip file. You need to copy that and the ADML at the same time.

Is it possible to export Chrome settings to a .reg file?

 

Turns out, we'd get 0 support from RM if I push everything out with GPO settings. [because "[censored] you, we're RM. Use registry settings, GPO is hard."]

 

I've been looking through this and it mentions that the Google GPOs are registry settings. But I can't find them on my test machine.

virtually all gpo settings ARE registry settings its just a better way of changing them on mass than firing out reg files so altering the gpo for say verbose startup messages just ticks the enable verbose messsages feature in that pcs registry

Looks like the settings are stored in HKLM\Software\Policies\Google\Chrome:

That's the reg equivalent of what I have set by GPO, which you've seen.
