One of my schools have quite a few Hitachi ED-X3250AT projectors. All are well over 6 years of age and have started to show their age, purple screens, dodgie colours and temp problems. The school have a regular maintenance program but that doesn't hide the fact that the projectors are getting on a bit. Because they are all hung in security cages the school would like to replace with like for like. So my question is..... has anyone got any suggestions for a similar sized projector if the school decided that it's time to replace rather than repair?

thanks in advance.

We have the Hitachil cprx-61 around the school and we have started recplacing the with NEC NP310. These are not much bigger than the CPRX-61 they look nicer and support ethernet ready for win7.

eugh that is a nightmare.

Unfortuantely i have found you cant just replace one projector with another. It's all about the throw etc....and in my case if they had the holes in the right places to hang them!

These guys are good if you need help RTS

I've found that most Hitachi's have very similar throw characteristics. Of course, if you're replacing a lot of projectors maybe you want to go wide-screen

Hitachi CPWX-410 has a long-life side-mounted filter and works OK in my clasrooms on eco-mode (not as bright, but extended bulb life)

We gave up in disgust and invested in Casio 'bulbless' - not cheap as an initial outlay, but cheaper than new ordinary projector plus bulbs, 5 year guarantee - no fade, no filters and no bulb replacement.

Your mounts would need some modification for them - there's another thread on it on here - solutions are, from what I remember, use a piece of MDF or take a drill to your existing mount!
