Multiple TV control over RS-232c

I am looking for a way to control multiple TVs (Sharp) over RS-232c from a central location. At the University I work for, we have a few classrooms that have more than one TV in them as they are too big to just have one in. I would love to be able to have professors have a central control box to turn the TVs on at the same time, and switch the inputs, control volume, etc... without having to repeat processes or honestly mess something up.

This is certainly possible. Do you have the model code for the panels? We can check with the manufacturer if they have suitable control codes to perform all of the functions you need. If not, using infrared would be the next option.

Have you looked at AMX for this? They provide control systems that can do that and substantially more (lights, blinds, AC etc) However it's not cheap..
