Irritating Printer Problem

We have just Migrated to a Server 2008 R2 network, all our client PC's are still XP SP3, windows 7 is the Job for next summer. Most of it has gone well apart from a really annoying printer problem.

Most of our printers are HP network ones and have been deployed by GPO's, the printers have been installed and shared from a 2008 R2 server and deployed from said server. Drivers for XP has been added to repository and they all appear to deploy fine. Print jobs can be sent from all the clients and all seamed right in the world until one user wanted to print off 20 copies of the same document. No matter which printer we send the job to, from whicherver client and user every printer always prints just 1 copy.

 

Any ideas?

I had that issue when I first installed the HP network printers, some years ago. I don't think I ever got to the bottom of it, so would be interested in any solutions.

Try changing the print processor to winprint in printer properties, advanced, print processor. Had a problem with some A3 HP's which refused to print A3 until we did this, so might be worth a go.

I have this problem also, but it is only affecting the HP 1320 printers we have. Our other HP printers (mixture of CP2025, CP3525 and P2055) work fine. I assumed it was a driver related issue but I haven't looked at it yet.
