wesleyw Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Could you recommend a backup solution for MS Exchange? I'm trialing BackupAssist at the moment but it's having trouble backing up individual mailboxes due to logging in errors I think for the backup operator account (I'm using an account i've created not administrator as this is 1). Bad practise and 2). had things disabled by default within exchange ) What do other people use? Wes
zag Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Use backup exec here, works fine on exchange 2003.
Edu-IT Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 I never managed to get BackupExec to play nicely with Exchange 2007.
Psymon Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 "Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager" works a treat, nice interface, can get it on your volume licensing for next to nothing. Si
EduTech Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Symantec Backup Exec works fine with Exchange 2007/2010 James.
Edu-IT Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Symantec Backup Exec works fine with Exchange 2007/2010 James. In theory it does.
EduTech Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 In theory it does. It does honest!! Have it working lovley here and in many other places as well as Symantec System Recovery hehe
altecsole Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 We use Backup Exec 2010. The individual email restore ability is very useful.
gshaw Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Who uses the individual mailbox feature with Backup Exec and Exchange 2007? I know it was flaky to say the least on 11 and 12 but it's supposedly better on Backup Exec 2010? As it stands I just do a full mail store backup but would be good to have the granularity if it can be trusted!
Edu-IT Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 It does honest!! Have it working lovley here and in many other places as well as Symantec System Recovery hehe I'm getting VSS errors here.
