Hello,

I have Server 2008 R2 running as a terminal server. I have group policy setting a path to the share for TS roaming profiles. I also have group policy to add the administrators group to the roaming profiles (so I can see what's in them) and also the ignore the profiles ownership.

The problem is that when a user logs on they get a brief pop up saying that they have been logged on with a temporary profile. The event log shows event ID 1511 "Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off."

An empty folder is created in the share where the TS roaming profile should be.

All my users have roaming profiles (works perfectly in XP/Vista/7). Why is the TS saying it can't find a local profile? Why is it looking for a local and not roaming profile? Why isn't it creating a new roaming profile?

Any ideas?

Thanks.
