mrbios Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Is there any quick way to do this: I have a folder which teachers can access to read and write from Students can only read Within that folder is 5 more folders again same permissions Within those 5 there are a load of folders with students names on, on these folders i only want the student who's name corrosponds to the folder to be able to read and write to it, obviously i know the looooooong way of doing this...but can anyone suggest a quick way of doing it? At the moment i would have to go to each one, deselect "include inhertited permissions" then start from the blank and add teachers and the individual student to each folder, but that obviously takes ages and is incredibly boring!!!!
SYNACK Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Use a script and SetACL (open source and much more reliable than xcalcs). You coule also look at modifying and using localzuk's permissions app that is floating around on here somewhere. 1
3s-gtech Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Also have a look at NTFSfix, which should be able to cut the job down alot.
