Youtube URL's

Does anybody have a list of the URL's that are required to unblock youtube? As i know its not just a simple unblock youtube.com!

 

We are finally going to allow youtube access for staff only!!

If you're running SmoothWall, I believe there's now a "youtube" category, as there's always one you miss when wanting to whitelist it. It might not have been released yet, I cant remember

 

If not - see if you can catch nile_c on here, he's our chief blocklist chappie, and I am sure he'd be happy to help out.

If its the one I'm thinking of its in the list but with a big tag of [bETA] is that the one or is that the other Youtube stuff as you have had a few YouTube things ?

 

Could you (or Nile) elaborate on its best use? Use it with allow action for staff to cover the entire youtube or is it more for comment filtering etc?

Hi John, you're probably thinking of the option to turn on YouTube Safety Mode.

 

Tom is referring to YouTube being split out of the Audio and Video category to exist as a category of its own. <- That indeed hasn't been released yet, so you won't find it in the list ;-)

It will happen soon however, along with some other category "re-jigging".

Essentially Safety Mode will help you by A) Stopping certain videos from being viewed or found in searches and B) Filtering comments from the comments list
