Well it seems our lovely windows 7 deployment went swimmingly except all the IT teachers have now said "where is movie maker", didn't realise it wasn't a built in part of windows 7 like it was with XP ....

So here's the question... What's the easiest way to deploy it? or am i looking at a run around job? I'm trying to find an MSI but not having any luck with that

EDIT oh found one, for god sake, i misspelt the search and google didnt try to correct me haha *facepalm*

The usual answer is to use either the new Live Movie maker ( Free Video Editing Software | Download Windows Live MovieMaker ) which replaces it and/or use the older XPish version that shipped for low end Vista PCs in a nice MSI Download details: Windows Movie Maker 2.6

We have both on our machines so that they have the option (along with Photostory), seems to work although we pushed live moviemaker with the image due to the lack of easy to get to MSI.

When did Live Moviemaker come out of beta? When I installed it last, not that long ago, it was still a beta version...

edit: actually, running the installer you posted it says I have a more recent version, so I guess im running a new beta..

I think that its a Google type beta as in it works but they're not done messing with it yet. It seems to run alright on all our stations though, well no-one has complained to me about it anyway :)

Are you possibly running the beta of WLM? it has the various newer betas in its pack.
