leco Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Server 2k8 R2 with Hyper-V In the console of Hyper-V the vm is displaying the above and this message: "Cannot connect to virtual machine configuration storage" I cannot turn off, start or connect the vm. As this is the mail server I would really like to get it back. Please could someone give me some idea of what I can do?
strawberry Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 can you see the config file yourself when you browse to it?. forgive me, but have you tried rebooting the vm host?
leco Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 Yes the host has been restarted - no change on the vm. As for actual config files (assuming these to be a .bin and a .vsv) there's nothing in the folder!
Hightower Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Sounds like a restore job mate Start digging through the backup media
leco Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 Resolved - created another vm and attached the original .vhd seems to be working ok. I'll leave it for about a week then delete the saved-critical vm. Or I might just leave it alone as it's not doing anything;)
