NetDiag Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Calling all Linux gurus! I'm currently stuck trying to find out how to 'temporarily' disable the Automount feature in Edgy. I am currently trying to work with a bash script to catalogue disc contents but automount keeps screwing it up! most annoying! arrrghhhh! Does anyone know how to turn this off and back on again when needed? Sorry windows users! I had to boot into Linux for this task as it's just not possible to do with DOS!
Geoff Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Not sure as I haven't got an edgy machine (yet), however: /etc/init.d/automount stop and /etc/init.d/automount start Double check that 'automount' is what it's actually called.
