Ric_ Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Has anybody set up a Samba server and set it up to dish out 64-bit drivers? I'm struggling to get the drivers on there for Windows 7 and Server 2008R2 clients.
RabbieBurns Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 not sure if its the same, but I couldnt get samba working for mounting shares from windows 2008+, I had to use CIFS..

It's to do with drivers this... I'm just struggling to get the drivers onto the server. If I install the driver locally, printing works fine.
linuxgirlie Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Are you using cupsaddsmb? We haven't tested on 64bit client.
Ric_ Posted August 3, 2010 Author Posted August 3, 2010 @linuxgirlie: That is what I have used in the past and it does work with 64-bit drivers if you can get them onto the server in the first place. The 'solution' I'm going to try today is to create a Windows 'printing proxy' which will connect to the Linux server via LPD. I think that this passes the users' credentials OK so it won't mess PyKota up.
