Opensource DTP program?

does anyone recommend a decent opensource dtp application?

Scribus is the first one that springs to mind.

How is it to install on windows? seems like it needs 17 other packages to work, sounds annoying

Last time I installed it on Windows it was a straightforward exe, some features require ghostscript to be installed but that's just another exe so in all 2 programs to install.

I've just redone our school prospectus using scribus. It was ideal for the job.

I've attempted to use it in the past.... quickly gave up and went back to InDesign and *shock horror* Publisher.... Has the windows version improved much?
