anyone used a flip mino HD camcorder? feedback please

Yeah, we use them. They are very easy to use. No image stabilisation, so we often have to use with a tripod. Also issues using videos created on this camera in movie maker. We have to convert them from mp4 to avi before editing. The image quality is good however and they have a decent amount of memory and battery life. I think on balance , this is a decent camera for the price

We use them a lot here, the SD and the HD ones. I think we've got about 15 now that get booked out on a regular basis. Big improvement over the hassle of capturing MiniDV tapes or messing around with Mini DVDs.

What program are you using to convert the videos?

It's called MP4cam2avi. Seems to do the job very well.

Deploy XVID via MSI (there's a good MSI of it online somewhere, you can find it with some Googling) and it should work with MovieMaker. However, we also have Serif MoviePlus X3 deployed and staff say it's generally better/more powerful.

we have them they get used a lot we also convert the videos using format factory which is also free. If you have any problems with them that are covered on the warrenty they are difficult to sort out as i have a case dating back before summer

Just to add that we find the Flip range pretty reliable too. Other brands of this type of simple handheld have been more problematic. The Flips work on Macs really well too.
