CHR1S Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Im trying to use DBAN to wipe a load of old HDDs. I boot from a USB stick and do through the interactive mode, select the drive and start. It then lists 2 non fatal errors - ERROR - /dev/sdb (process crash) ERROR - /dev/sda (process crash) It then just says hold power butto to shutdown. Ive made sure there are no usb hubs etc connected and the HDD is IDE. Could anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks Chris

Domino Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 I've just ordered one of these instead Verity Systems SV91M CESG Security Degausser £1800 odd quid, does tapes and HDDs, jobs a good un. good news as my store room currently looks like the land where hard drives go to die....and dban-ing the lot would destroy my life
