Digital Blue cameras and Windows 7

Anybody got the digi blue software to work on Win7? Spoke to TAG Learning about it and they said it was incompatible. We're just about to upgrade all stations to Win7 so I guess we'd have to use the cameras with other software.

 

Any suggestions for what other software to use?

Windows Movie Maker works just fine. The Digital Blue software rarely worked on *any* OS let alone 7. Just about all my schools have phased out using that software and gone onto using WMM, usually soon replacing the cameras themselves with more capable items at half the price!

I agree, the software isn't good and the cameras are worse. Little bit too Fisher Price for my liking. Will give them a try in WMM. Cheers.

it definitely dosent work on win 7x64 (im ignoring x86 and hoping it will just go away) and ive got a dozen of the things downstairs (@home) to go back

x86? you mean that architecture that should have been forgotten about 10 years ago?

Depends on which version you have of the cammeras, if you have V1s then they are totally incompatible with any version of 7, the drivers don't work and the app is totally dependant on the integrated Indeo codec that was removed from Windows after XP.

ive only tried with version 3 cameras and 3.1 software i diddnt even think trying 1/2/2.1 was worth the hassle

* Switch on the Camera when it’s not connected to the PC

 

 

 

* Hold down the Resolution button on the camera.

 

 

 

* Plug in the camera while still holding the Resolution button.

 

 

 

* You will notice a new drive mounted in your 'Computer' folder called 'Removable Disk'.

 

 

 

* Double-click to open it, then open the 'DCIM' folder > '100MEDIA' folder.

 

 

 

* You can now drag the movies out of that folder and into any location you wish, double click the files individually to view them.
