Installed the update on my test machine here, but a little disapointed that it looks that i'll have to get In Touch installed separately.

SIMS Options Offer

This is the initial phase of the SIMS Options Offer process in SIMS. The first

phase provides the ability to:

define and maintain Options Offers.

create associated courses and lists of choices.

assign pupil/students to the appropriate offers for their National Curriculum

Year groups and define the band structure for eventual import into Options

5.70 and Nova-T6.

The second phase of the SIMS Options Offer process will enable

pupil/students and their parents to select and approve Options Choices via a

SIMS Learning Gateway web page.

There is also a Student Choices page that can be used by class teachers to

explain the choices to parents and to directly involve pupil/students in

making the best possible Options choices for their future development. This

process can be incorporated into parents’ evening or a specific Options

consultation time can be arranged to discuss the possibilities.

Once pupil/students have made their Options choices, the resulting

selections can be imported into Options 5.70 to enable the generation of

classes and the creation of an Options solution.

Defining Options Offers enables the outlining of future course choices

without using Nova-T6 at an early stage. This enables the timetabler to

experiment with the structure of the future curriculum and timetable plan.

This process can be carried out as many times as necessary until a

satisfactory structure is achieved.

Looks like they didn't manage to solve the problem of printing Year Timetables. It could not pick up all the sub-bands when we tested it. But at least they have listened to what we said and made sure the option is not there - we said it is best to be missing this routine rather than being present but not working properly!

Both SIMS 7.132 and FMS 6.132 are working well. No problems yet!

i'm interested in feedback from anyone testing it out especially with FMS and fees, as our team will leave at the end of this week and then testing it will be impossible.

It's the Capita Unicorn, it would be really great to see but it's not real.

Maybe if the DfE and the exam Boards stopped messing with the Exam Structures we could have EO7.

Then they WOULD be able to look at System7.

I doubt it will happen befor,e as much of the resource money for a System7 project would be wasted!

Different teams though. They don't do much crossover, if any.

Yep, I know that, but what I posted above did not originate from me ........

Phil Neal said he wouldn't get up and speak at next years SIMS conference if they hadn't sorted System Manager 7.

Doesn't stop him delivering his presentation sat down though! ;)
