With regards to the next generation of SATA products running at 6gbps ( SATA 3 ) I was just curious if it is possible to dual bond to SATA 2 ports / connectors together on a 2008 Mac Pro ( which has 2 free sata ports on the logic board ) that way SATA 3 solid state drives do not use up all the bandwidth ( or at least that being the idea ) of one sata 2 port

Long shot but just curious if it is possible or not.

I have seen a few websites where they advertise the PCI Express cards for SATA 3 and some of them work on the 2008 mac pro

Think I will just get a PCIe controller card

a Pants Computer - lol, just kidding. I wanted it more for my mac pro as wanted OS X to run and boot up quicker - money wise I think for the time being it may be cheaper to buy a 300Gb WD Raptor for the time being.
