LeMarchand Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Is anyone using this on a machine that doesn't meet the minimum specs? 1GB (or is it 2?) of RAM + dual core seems a bit OTT to me.
Bradley Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Nah i use this software on machines of a vastly lower spec with no real problems. On a sidenote might i enquire as to the turnaround time of you supplying them with a database backup file and that getting processed and live for your pages. It took around 3 weeks for one of my schools which meant all book 'transactions' within that period had to be re-processed to get the online database up to speed. 1
LeMarchand Posted June 28, 2010 Author Posted June 28, 2010 Thanks - I thought as much. The librarian will be disappointed that she's not getting a new machine, though! Unfortunately I can't help you re the database, as it has all yet to be set up - looks like a job for the summer hols if it takes that long...

I just spoke to the person who sold it to us and we had a turnaround of 2 hours! We currently have a client connecting to it with 1.3 GHz processor, 256 MB RAM. Its a little bit slow, but it works. 1
