That was a cracking race today - just a shame Lewis had the penalty otherwise he would have caught up with Vettel and the final third of the race would have been really good.

As for Alonso - I did laugh when I heard on the radio after he asked what position he [ Lewis ] came out after his penalty that he was still second......' That's not fair, that's not fair....' bleeding moron.

He is just bitter he's having a crap season.

Indeed, I'm still waiting for the report on that as there were quite a few of them. Lewis just proves what a good driver he is and how he is able to adapt when he has no down force on the car because of the damaged wing he had at the start. Compare that to say Alonso who was going well at the pratice sessions and it proves he is way ahead on that level.

Did laugh when Mike Sch had to wait in the pit lane exit whilst the pack drove past - I was waiting for him to jump it and then get black flagged.....

5 second penalty across the board as I read the F1 site.

 

I think Lewis was in a no win situation with the Safety Car. If he'd trod on the beans, he'd have cleared it before the line, but I'd bet the stewards would have found something to penalize him for. If he'd thrown out the anchors, he'd have had a car flying over him just like Weber's prang.

Webber's fault my backside! Kovalainen needs his head read thinking he had the pace in a Lotus to try and block a pass by Webber. He knew he was off the pace and should have yeilded to the faster car. Bring on the next race!

Good race, although didn't see the climax as i unfortunately decided that it would be a good idea to waste my afternoon watching the other load of crap on BBC1 :/

kovalinen was racing hiom for position so he dosent need to move out of the way. he diddnt move across the track just took a normal looking line (thats my read) and webber was trying to get too much of a tow and got caught out when the lotus slowed down earlier than he did personaly id say its just one of those things both drivers could of avoided it but neither did

No stand tickets for me as I am working as a Marshal. Nothing spectacular just a spectator one. At least I get a good view.

Webber was simply caught unaware by how slow the Lotus was and the early braking point. These things happen, he's alive, neither of the drivers are hurt, neither are holding a grudge for a racing incident.

 

Alonso just makes me laugh, whingy git. Had the same car as Hamilton in 2007 and the rookie showed him up. Had a better can than Hamilton in Valencia - and Lewis showed him up. Cue the violins

You know how very strange I'm sitting in that exact same stand probably in the seat next to you weird how the ticketing system assigns these things, it must have a built in Edugeek hunter on it

 

 

No stand tickets for me as I am working as a Marshal. Nothing spectacular just a spectator one. At least I get a good view.

 

Ooooh now that sounds good fun Will you be rushing on the track to pickup plastic bottles and carbon fibre bits? How did you get to be a Marshal? I could go for that one next year what about you Tim?

Aye, Stewarding at Silverstone, cant be bad, although i have heard that you dont get paid for it, its purely volenteer.

 

It would be great if there was a slight accident and you were able to take parts of the car away.

Can be a good weekend as long as weather is ok and in answer to you question I am not one of the Marshals that run on the track picking up rubbish and debris, I am one of those that stand between the crowd and the track keeping spectators under control .

 

John, you will be in the stand opposite where I shall be working possibly as we work the inside of the circuit from Stowe to Club and beyond.

Oh yes John... I am debating what to buy.... I am after a Lewis flag with the union jack but the suppliers dont seem to want to pick up the phone or email back, so i think it will have to be the back2back winners flag, lewis ham key ring and unsure which cap to buy, the mp4-25 or the lewis cap. Plus a large union jack flag ... and i guess you will have a mercedes benz cap or t-shirt??? Surprised you havent got the german flag hee hee.

I have Nigel Mansell's wing mirror off his car - honest guv, it just came off in my hands....

 

 

You can just see me at 4:09..... everybody was pulling bits off the car - despite the police.

Thats part of our job as spectator marshals to keep the gates secure to stop people getting on the track unless of course they are meant to be there.
