Hi All,

Well just finished the FITS level 5 course and exam, so decide to give my opinions on it (see here, as I don't want to duplicate my typing).

I have also heard back from the ILM. If you are considering membership into a Management Association, the FITS level 5 pass is accepted as the educational requirement for fellow membership of the ILM.

...The SQA qualification is fine for Fellowship as it’s level 5 on the English Qualifications Framework (equivalent to level 8 on the Scottish Qualifications Framework). As you have a recognised level 5 qualification you don’t need to worry about CPD as an equivalent to a level 5 qualification...

Well done to Ken, Stephen, Barry, Stan, Phil and commiseration to Tracy on a very near miss (you was robbed!).

I am still in conversation with the OU about using either or both FITS courses for transfer of credits too ... hopefully more news on that next month.

So is this the FITS manager course or the step above that?

Well the course and exam that we sat is the level 5 Manager's course (that's what this review is for), we already sat the level 4 Practitioner's course (last year) and exam (earlier this year). I'm hoping for a higher one, maybe a level 6 or 7 sometime in the future...

If you're asking about what Tony is talking about, he's talking about either/or, we'll have to see what answer the OU gives Tony...

My conversation with the OU has been around making use of the practitioner and manager courses to transfer as free credits into an OU degree by using MT127 and TM227. The Manager course is actually a higher level than TM227 but if it gives me another 30 points I am happy to cash it in. Because the course is not one on their list then I have to get them to evaluate it (after talks with SQA) and then allocate it into their systems ... hoops ... jumping ... through ... please feel free to re-arange the words.
