ML115 cannot install server 2003

Hello

 

Probably something simple, but i cannot install 2003 svr on proliant ml115

 

I have raid 5 configured

 

Basically waht happens is that when i run through the install and i get to the Welcome to setup screen, i cant press enter, keyboard is non responsive.

 

if i press f6 to load scsi i get: Virtual install disk must be disabled in RBSU(F9 duting boot) to use this floppy), it then loads the files on usb floppy, i finish that and run through rest of initial install, i get to Welcome to setup screen, i try to press enter to cont. and then i get the same non responsive keyboard

 

i am using a ps2 keyboard

with hp servers ive found best way to install them is using the cd/dvd they provide which then asks for your windows disk and inmstalls the correct drivers etc for you or they can be a pain

I'd agree with Sted. Use the Proliant boot CD first.

 

If your talking about the G5 then the boot CD won't help. The CD says in it's notes that it doesn't support 3rd party (the built in Nvidia) RAID install.

I've done a few installs on this chassis using the nVidia RAID chipset, and is rarely anything other than a pain. I've found that slipstreaming the most recent version of the RAID drivers with the Windows install media using nLite is the least painful way forward.
