Compaq 610 Bios Password Reset

Hi,

 

Got some HP Compaq 610 laptops here. I have set a bios password on them. I know 110% i used the correct password on them. When i come to enter the bios again to make some changes it wont take my password.

 

Does anyone know how to reset the bios password please?

are they set to us keyboard? or is numlock on?

I havent even gone into windows yet. This is int this bios. I have never booted to windows before with these.

Sometimes, if you flash the bios with an updated version, that will reset the password.

I phoned HP and they tried to tell me some steps to get around it. They didn't work. I have been elevated to next line support.

You've checked that the initial password change took, right? i.e you've tried a blank password?

I sent them back to HP and they fixed them for me.
