What are the options for Network and Classroom Management software in the market today? This forum seems to be full of CC3 and CC4... so does that mean RM is the only choice the schools have? or is it the only software which has too many problems?

I am a newbie in this country so help would be appreciated.

RM certainly isn't the only option. Many (the majority?) of us run vanilla server 2003/8 networks... and some use Open Source platforms.

To my mind RM are expensive.. I'm not a great fan.

You’ll notice that the forum is full of people *swearing* at CC3/4. That in itself should tell you a lot. Even RM aren’t pushing it very hard any more, instead they’re trying to sell you their professional services for more industry standard tools such as SCCM. Which we politely declined.

Otherwise, for classroom management you have:

NetSupport

Impero

ABTutor

LANSchool

Netop

Senso

Veyon if you’re short of cash

These products all have different levels of functionality and methods of working so make sure you know exactly what you want (admittedly tricky), do your research and don’t let the salesmen bamboozle you.
