Storage Quotas

I'm looking at introducing Quota's onto our Staff My Documents folders, as some are just too big.

 

What sort of Size do people think is acceptable to reduce them too? I have already used file screens to remove the ability to save videos to the folders

 

Is there any piece of software that looks at local disks and automatically reduces the quality of images?

That would be a handy program!

Atm we only use Tree Size Professional to scan our file server hard drives. We find the largest profiles (some as large as 25GB) and request the user store their iTunes/pictures at home. It's common for staff to have GB's and GB's of music in their documents as well as holiday pictures and stuff!

I'm planning on 8GB - the same size as a cheap USB stick, then they can synch the contents of their user area with removeable media if they want.

Good plan, I might do that - our file server is now full of viedo files after doing video editing in classes.

I'm sure we had this question a few weeks back - I think someone came up with a ready-made utility, too, although it would be dead easy to do as a Python script.
