Couldn't believe this when I saw it on Look North East last night. Terrible thing to happen - it's a bad road though isn't it? Maybe it's time something was done.

Certainly makes you sit back and consider your mortality - truly tragic.

 

As for the road, for Cumbria it's actually generally not too bad - the strtech it happened on is single carriageway - but it's wide single carrigeway with good visibility and there's a dual carriageway a few miles before and after it - and you don't get too many of them round the county generally
