karldenton Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Hi, Can anyone recommend good software to image / ghost pc's. Ideally just store the image on CD or DVD and when it goes down, just stick the CD in. THanks
soveryapt Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 You could use FOG which is a server based utility so you build a machine, pull the image back from it before doing anything else and then should all go wrong you can put the image back to it, or you could also use Clonezilla which would create an image to wherever you tell it to and then you use the Clonezilla disk to bring the machine back by pointing it at where the image is located.
tech_guy Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 DriveImage XML - although it's only for personal use. CloneZilla?
plexer Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Have you tried a search? We really should have a sticky of things like imaging solutions it gets asked about soo many times. Ben
p858snake Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Package ImageX onto a WinPE cd and do it from that?
pwagner9999 Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 ping dot windowsdream dot com PING Partimage Is Not Ghost not allowed to post links yet Have a look at the ping project. I have used Ping to make hidden backup partition that stores a restoration image. It works well and is free. There is also an option that allows you to put the image on a dvd but I haven't tried that yet.
designmethis Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I would suggest Clonezilla if imaging multiple computers from one image.
