I've done this before, but it must if been 3 years ago.

I've got Server 2003 and the school has decided to start to phase out the WinSuite software (at last). What I've done first of all is to make a new WinSuite Desktop the same as Windows XP.

To do this I've had to make a new Group in Active Directory. This has been run on a few students accounts. Everything seems to be good and now I have to roll it out to the rest of the school.

Is there an easier way of moving students from one group into another and removing the old group?

At the moment I go into the 'Year 10' Organisational Unit, double click the student for their properties, go into 'Member of' and delete the use from the Student Group and then add the new GCSEGroup.

I have to do this for the whole school. *sob*.

Any help or software (free if poss) to do this please.

I apologise if this has been covered before, but I can not see it in the 30 odd pages of post that came up.

Many Thanks

Simon

Might be missing something here but why not open the student group and remove the users. Then do the reverse for the GCSEGroup.

Go into the group object. Select members tab, shift select them all and remove.

To add members hit add > advanced > Locations. Select the OU with the year group in > ok > Find now without typing in a search field > Shift select then ctrl click to get rid of any group objects or such you have in the same OU as your users > ok .

Jobs a good un.

Why not just go into your new group itself and click on members and then add you can select as many users as you want to add.

Then to remove them from their old group yuo open that up select all of them and click remove?
