FMS 6.82 download?

Anyone know if there is a download of the 6.82 upgrade available? I hunted about on the capita site but couldnt see one.

 

We used to get the updates on CD, but havent had one for a while now, our FMS is on a seperate server to our SIMS, so we cant update using SOLUS.

Yeah, I think it was released at the same time as November.

Yeah but thats in the SOLUS download, which we cant download on our FMS server, so I need a seperate download of 6.82.

Could you not download on the SOLUS server, but not install? Then copy the setup to the FMS server?

There is a CD available to download.

 

The link to download is:

This will download an iso image of an installable 6.82 FMS release.

 

However - to unzip, you do need a password. You should request this password from your support unit - or if supported by Capita Bedford or Capita Cirencester, send an email to [email protected]

Actually, I foolishly forgot to say that the latest version of the SOLUS 2 wizard will allow you to download and upgrade FMS, without having SIMS!

 

You should notice that there are now 2 login boxes on the front of the SOLUS 2 wizard, and if you have Level 5 permissions for FMS, you can enter your FMS Username and Password in the FMS login box - which will deploy and upgrade FMS.

 

We have now completely separated SIMS from FMS in terms of the upgrade process.

 

Also - you can automate the download of the FMS files (in the same way as the SIMS files).

 

We will be releasing a new version of the SOLUS 2 Wizard (version 2.06) which will allow the deployment of SIMS Learning Gateway to both schools and Local Authorities.

I did download the solus2 on friday, but it refused to install on the FMS server, complaining that there was no SIMs install or SIMS SQL server present. Is there a newer version that fridays?

 

(just checked, the one I downloaded on friday is 2.05, when I try and install that onto the FMS server the message I get is

 

"The machine is currently not working as a SIMS workstation or a SIMS SQL server. Solus can only install on one or the other of the above."

 

Then it exits out.

 

I downloaded the zip above though, and thats worked perfectly

A quick download is a lot easier for us FMS only places - just a pity the Capita support desk couldn't tell me about it when I rang last week, before I spent ages reading all the Solus documentation.

 

Still worth knowing for the future.
