Yes

There are two ways to do this: You can turn it off completely by going to the very poorly titled User Configuration\Admin Templates\Internet Explorer\Browser Menus\Disable Save This program to disk option. Works on IE5 and above.

If you want a bit more control, you can put websites in zones (Intranet Zone, Internet Zone, Trusted Sites, Restricted sites etc) and decide if you want people to be able to download from sites in those zones. Thats in User Configuration\Admin Templates\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel\Security Page. However this only works on IE6 on WinXP SP2 or above.

No point starting a new thread so i'll ask here - is there another policy setting to disable the 'Open This File' option? Not near a domain to check :p

Reason is, getting fed up of staff and students losing their work after emailing themselves a word doc, opening it, and then saving, so it saves in the temp file and then dissapears
