Can anyone suggest a good application to extract EXE files?

This is my scenario: I have downloaded all the Dell drivers i need to inject into SCCM - however they all come from Dell as EXE files. I have dozens which i need to extract and inject.

I dont really want to be running each EXE on a machine then trying to locate the files which it extracts.

Help!

Don't they extract to a C:\DELL\XXXXXX folder anyway?

7-Zip or WinRAR will extract drivers from the Dell EXEs. Since they are just self-extracting ZIP files, you could even change the extension to ZIP and extract the contents using Windows itself - although this will be much slower.

As you are using SCCM, you might want to take a look at the webpage below. Dell have created CAB files containing drivers for all their latest desktops and laptops that can be used with both SCCM, MDT and Windows PE.

UPX is for making EXEs smaller, so you would still be stuck with the drivers inside. :)

hence the question marks after the post as I saw one of the bullet points under overview

safe: you can list, test and unpack your executables. Also, a checksum of both the compressed and uncompressed file is maintained internally.

So was not sure if this was the case or not.
