Hi,

Can anyone help?

Pupils in our School all use a shared drive where they store their work. However some of them drag and drop folders into other class folders and create new folders and even copy whole folders.

Does anyone have a solution to stop them from doing this.

Thanks,

Aasimah

You need to assign greater permissions to "Creator Owner" than to "Authenticated Users" / "Everyone" / student group. As long as you give students in general enough permissions to create stuff, you can then give modify / delete permissions only to Creator Owner.

It sounds to me they have a single, shared directory when it's much better practice for pupils to have their own home directories. This then allows pupils to create their own portfolios of work.

only way ive found is to create a hidden txt file that has specific permissions such that only admins can do anything with it then the folder wont drag n drop as they dont have permission to that file
