[ubuntu] Cant remote into Ubuntu Netbook

I can ping the ip but using either WinSCP or Putty just refuses the connection, am I being a huge noob and missing something very obvious, shouldnt it work out the box?

Have you installed the openssh-server package?

I checked SSH was installed but not the server, all sorted now
