notalot Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 We have been having a problem for a few months and its bugging me now. We are running 3 Windows 7 64Bit on Dell dimension 9200s in a windows 2003 Domain and they all have the problem. We can access shares from all but 1 server all the time and 1 server we can access the shares intermitently. When we first start the workstation we have access to it but over the course of the day it will drop out and then we will need to restart the workstation but it will drop out again. If we use the IP of the server we can access it fine (most of the time) but we can remote desktop to the server name, so it’s not DNS. We have disabled the power saving setting on the Network cards and have updated the drivers for them. Any thought on what to try next.
notalot Posted May 10, 2010 Author Posted May 10, 2010 No thoughts, the only other thing that is diffrent on the server is that it has a DFS share on it (but its all the shares that we lose access to)
djh Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 WE've had a simular issue, but it only shows certain files when it feels like it. The share sometimes says disconnected...... Have you got Sync on? The GPO that stops sycronsiation on XP machines doesn't seem to copy over to Windows 7. If you turn off Sync Center (maybe at the bottom right) does this fix it? 1
djh Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 neither did we, but sync center on windows 7 seems to want to sync everything..... 1
