alan-d Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 What's wrong with The Sun? Or.. what do you expect for 20p? Toilet paper that does not smudge when wiping the ass? 1
sidewinder Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I dont like the Sun, in the most part its harmless enough but its opinions/bias, that although obvious, so many people take as fact is a little worrying. However its got a long way to go before it becomes as pathetic, right wing, fear mongering and downright nasty as the Mail. For that we can be thankful. Their coverage of the election has been nothing short of disgraceful with regards to Nick Clegg, as soon as they realised he was a threat to their precious David the mudslinging started Thats not to mention the lovely borderline racism and immigration phobia they fill the paper with for the rest of the time
CAM Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Errr yeah, The Mail is running a worse campaign on their front page today. Far worse, something about Britannia wandering off the edge of a cliff and yelling vote Tory or we will have no government! I nearly choked in laughter looking at it. Newspapers wonder why they are losing readers, it's because they incite trouble for sales and throw their own opinions around insisting they are correct and anyone else is wrong. Sometimes with dangerous and life-wrecking consequences.
Sarconia Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Errr yeah, The Mail is running a worse campaign on their front page today. Far worse, something about Britannia wandering off the edge of a cliff and yelling vote Tory or we will have no government! And yet idiots such as my parents still continue to buy this drivel... I keep telling them but they just don't listen /sigh
sidewinder Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Ugh, I havent had the pleasure of seeing that yet. My mum reads it, hence why I glance at it. Thankfully I know she is intelligent enough to not just believe everything they say, but is everyone? Because without exposure to other media, from reading the Mail they would have you think that the country will be destroyed if everyone doesnt vote Tory, case in point the front page you describe. I dont have a problem with newspapers political leanings as a whole, they all do it, but the broadsheets manage to not be so pathetically childish about it - they'll cover who they support more favourably but give a reasonably balanced view of the other parties too, or at least a few commentators to provide an alternative opinion. To be fair the Mail has had the occasional one of them (I forget his name) plus a small column by Vince Cable, but its squirreled away behind 10 pages of Tory propaganda
Batman Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Sod the country....save the t*t*es! You've finally flipped then?
tmcd35 Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I can get the same "news" read out loud to me if I give 20p to one of the local smack heads.... Save 20p and conversing with the local ASBO massive and just switch on Sky News.
EduTech Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 The Sky's the limit then? you can't use them words they are mine lol {see facebook for more info lol}

Daily Mail haters seem to read it more than those of us that just like a laugh on our dinner hour.
