bc2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 I been experiencing problems with my Youtube for some while now, every time I go into Youtube all the thumbnails wont display, it just appears as a red x in a top left hand corner, also when I click on someone profile their background image wont appear, it just stays blank. It just happens on youtube no where else, sometimes like 1 out of 30 times some of the thumbnails do appear but not all of them, and it takes a while. The videos work fine. I tried a lot of things like; Download different brewers ( safari, opera) the same thing happens there. Clearing the catch Making sure that "display images" are clicked in on Internet options I reseted my internet options to the original setting nothing seems to work,
_Adam_ Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Although Youtube to the normal person appears to be just YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. it is actually the front of a very diverse network which has a large number of streaming servers all over the world. If you have any sort of content filtering happening chances are it's allowing the YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. but blocking the large number of servers that sit behind it. The best bet is to watch the logs of the content filter, see what it is blocking and allow the URL. You will have to do this several times until Youtube behaves correctly.
tom_newton Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Great advice. youtube consists of many "support" domains which all need unblocking. If you have a log snippet i'd be happy to look over it for you - you might say i am slightly experienced in this area
